A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit Weili County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 40.89 degrees north latitude and 84.15 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 20 km, the center said in a statement.
Currently, there are no immediate reports of casualties, according to local authorities.
