The Great Wall Museum of China, located at the foot of the Badaling section of the wall in Beijing's Yanqing district, has received approval recently from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform to carry out a facelift project to its surrounding environment in the second half of this year.

The project aims to enhance the overall visitor experience by revamping traffic flow lines, improving the landscape, and building supporting facilities.

The renovation will feature landscaping and paving upgrades to the west and east entrances, as well as Guntiangou Cultural Square, within the scenic area. Additionally, supporting projects, such as electrical reconstruction, water supply and drainage, and lighting, will also be implemented.

The project will improve parking and tourist activity routes, optimize ticket inspection and security inspection, and facilitate the tourism infrastructure of the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area, further enhancing its tourism carrying capacity.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2025. Once finished, the Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area and the Great Wall Museum of China will boast a more unified landscape, proudly showcasing their status as 5A-level tourist scenic spots and world cultural heritage sites.
