The Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau has recently issued a series of policies to promote the city's exhibition economy and boost high-quality development.

The measures focus on three areas: attracting international professional exhibitions, supporting the establishment of new exhibitions in Beijing, and expanding existing exhibitions.

The city will provide subsidies to support large professional international exhibitions in 2024.

For globally renowned international exhibitions with an exhibiting area of 10,000 square meters or above, where the proportion of international exhibitors renting exhibition space reaches 20% or more of the total exhibition area, projects organizers will be eligible for up to 1 million yuan ($138,000) in incentives.

For new exhibitions held in Beijing in 2024 with an exhibition area of 10,000 square meters or above, the city will offer 500,000 yuan in incentives, with an additional 300,000 yuan for every additional 10,000 square meters, capped at 1 million yuan.

To encourage the expansion of existing exhibitions, the city will provide subsidies ranging from 200,000 to 800,000 yuan for exhibitions held in Beijing in 2024. These subsidies are available for exhibitions that cover 10,000 to 30,000 square meters and show an increase in exhibition area compared to the previous edition.

The 2024 exhibition support program will be implemented in two batches to improve service efficiency. The first batch will cover projects completed between Jan. 1 and Aug. 1, while the second batch will cover those completed between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31.
