Chinese Super League club Henan FC announced on Monday that their players Liu Bin and Ding Haifeng have picked up injuries in recent matches.
Liu suffered a serious left knee injury which needs surgery, and he is expected to take eight to 12 months to recover, the Henan club said in a statement.
Ding had a muscle problem on his left calf, which would force him to rest for three to four weeks, the statement said.
The Henan side, set to face league pacesetters Shanghai Port on Friday, needs to find cover for those two players, both of whom are left defenders.
