BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.

SPACEWALK

The Shenzhou-18 crew members, who are currently on board China's space station, will conduct their second extravehicular activities (EVAs) within the next few days, the China Manned Space Agency announced on Tuesday.

Since completing their first spacewalk on May 28, the crew has successfully completed tasks, including maintaining the experiment cabinets and installing components, monitoring environmental conditions inside the space station, and preparing for the second EVAs.

GREEN OFFSHORE OILFIELD CLUSTER

The development project for an offshore oilfield cluster began operations on Monday in Beibu Gulf, south China, according to the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

This is also China's first comprehensive green-designed offshore oil field, demonstrating the importance of low-carbon transformation in the country's energy industry.

SAFETY BROADCASTS FOR ARCTIC SHIPPING ROUTES

China on Monday began radio broadcasts of maritime safety information for Arctic shipping routes, including sea ice monitoring and weather forecast information, according to the Maritime Safety Administration's Northern Navigation Service Center.

A station in north China's Tianjin Municipality will provide broadcast services for the world's northernmost sea routes using single-sideband radio phones from July 1 to Oct. 31 each year.

Relying on data provided by meteorological and remote-sensing satellites, the services will focus on analyzing and forecasting sea ice concentration and weather information in key areas such as the Bering Strait, the Dmitry Laptev Strait, the Vilkitsky Strait and the Kara Strait. Enditem
