BEIRUT, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday signed a memorandum of cooperation, which would allocate 10 million U.S. dollars for implementing 28 projects in Lebanon.
During the signing ceremony, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed "the strong fraternal relationship between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia," noting that Saudi Arabia "has always been by Lebanon's side and preserved the unity of the Lebanese."
For his part, Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari said the 10-million-dollar financial contribution from Saudi Arabia reflects the Saudi leadership's keenness to support humanitarian and relief efforts, and promote stability and development in Lebanon.
Bukhari added that Saudi Arabia has implemented 129 relief, humanitarian and development projects for Lebanon in various areas, amounting to 2.7 billion dollars. Enditem
